About Katherine
Katherine Howlett brings over two decades of experience as a writer, educator, and academic counselor.
A Stanford and Georgetown graduate, she combines a scholar’s precision with an educator’s empathy, guiding students to approach the college process with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
Before founding her independent practice, Katherine served as a Writing Center Fellow and faculty member at Georgetown University and later at Soka University of America, where she specialized in creative nonfiction and graduate application support. Her experience in higher education shaped her unique approach to college admissions: rigorous, reflective, and profoundly human.

That purpose and expertise now shapes her work with students nationwide.
Today, Katherine partners with students across the country to help them navigate every stage of the admissions process—from discovery and school selection to essay development, test preparation, and interview readiness.
Her students have been accepted to leading institutions including Ivy League and top-tier research universities, but she measures success by something more lasting: helping students find schools where they will truly thrive.
